Description :
Inishowen Boating Company operates 2 purpose built fast charter boats from Bunagee Pier Culdaff on the Inishowen Peninsula.
The Gemini II is a 39 foot Cygnus Cyfish powered by a 575 HP Scania Engine which gives it a cruising speed of 16 knots. She holds a P3 License to carry 12 passengers (License number TBA)
The Barracuda is a 33 foot Lochin powered by a 306 HP Volvo engine which gives it a cruising speed of 12 knots. She has a P5 license to carry 12 passengers (License number TBA).
Either boat will cater for parties of upto 12, and a days fishing will cost from 400 - 500 Euros depending on distance from port. Off season and midweek offers are always available. Transport can be arranged to meet groups at Derry and Belfast Airport, and there is a good selection of local hotels and B&B;s which can accommodate whole parties and who provide evening meals and packed lunches.
The Sea Angling off the Inishowen Coast is as wide and varied as anywhere in the country with up to 24 species being recorded over 2 days from Red Gurnard to Porbeagle Shark.
One of our specialities is Wreck Fishing. over 100 wrecks are within range and have yielded many fine specimens of Pollack, Coal Fish and Ling as well as some good Cod, Wrasse and Conger.
Another speciality is Tope Fishing. Culdaff Bay and Inishtrahull Sound is renowned as one of Irelands premier locations for Tope Fishing from May to September with upto 30 fish boated in one day, and specimens of over 50 pounds all tagged and released.
The Gemini II and Barracuda also cater for other aspects of Marine Tourism. Sight seeing trips are available along the spectacular coast and scenery from Inishowen Head to Malin head at a cost of 50€ per hour for the boat ,or 5€ per hour per head. Trips to Inishtrahull Island cost around 15€ per head. Whales, Dolphins and Basking Sharks are often spotted in summer months.
Facilities on board both boats are of the highest specification with all modern electronics and safety equipment. There are toilets on board and hot tea and coffee is always available.
