Just a five minute stroll from the village is one of the most spectacular walks you can experience. The golden sands of Killahoey Beach with breathtaking views of Horn Head, Muckish Mountain towering in the background and the Rossguill Peninsula reaching out across the bay. A panoramic vista not to be missed. The changing scenes as you walk along the shoreline capture the moment as you mingle with the many seabirds that frequent this beautiful stretch of sandy beach - the Oyster Catcher, Tern, Sanderling, and Dunlin, not forgetting the Cormorant and the Grey heron are no strangers to these waters.

"McSwiney's Gun" is a natural blow hole which gives a loud report at certain conditions of the tide.
