An angling experience in the home of the wild browns

Kinny - This lough has a fishable area of 51 HA and is best fished from a boat, although parts are easily acessible from the shore. It has an excellent stock of wild browns. The fish are not free rising and sinking lines are best for fly. Spinning is probably the most successful method. Sticklebacks and cased caddis, together with corixids and gragonfly nymphs form diet.
Best Flies: Golden Olive; Iron Blue; Fiery Brown

Kindrum - This lake has a surface area of 67 HA and is easily fished from the shore. There is an excellent stock of wild browns and a significant number of char. The principle diet is sticklebacks, cased caddis and snails but corixids, chronomids and dragonfly numphs also feature. Early in the season spinning is more successful but later fly angling is more likely to succeed and all patterns are useful.
Best Flies: Mallard and Claret; Fiery Brown; Sedges

Shannagh & Magheradrumman - Shannagh is 28 HA and is triangular in shape and most of the shoreline has good access. It has both natural and stocked browns, The natural browns are small but free rising and good sport on fly. The stocked fish are up to two years of and average 30cms - so there are some big fellas.
Magheradrumman is the smallest lake in the area but is well stocked and as it is easily fishable will provide good fun for the novice as well as the experienced angler.
Best Flies: Black Pennell; Butcher
