Description :
Dunfanaghy is a picturesque village on the shores of Sheephaven Bay. Just a short stroll from the centre of the village is the beautiful Killahoey Beach, a three mile stretch of sand providing excellent bathing.
Just across the Bay lies Horn Head with its striking cliffs scenery and a wide variety of bird life. Renowned as resorts for the discerning holidaymaker for at least a century, there is a tradition of caring for the needs of visitors. There are so many fine beaches that they never seem crowded.
In numerable roads round the coast, lakes and mountains make it possible to spend an hour, a half day or whole days on end, exploring the fascinating countryside by car, by cycle or on foot, as the visitor prefers. It is the ideal area for a wonderful family holiday, with interests for every taste. There are numerous fine beaches in the area, the main ones being Killahoey, Port-na-Blagh and Marble Hill, (all safe for bathing) and Tramore Beach. The beach at the Forest Park is particularly safe for small children.
