Ramelton is a charming scenic village built on the River Lennon. A heritage town, Ramelton is steeped in historywith some of its buidings dating to the early 17th century. Rameltons most striking feature is the tree-lined Mall and its Georgian architecture. The Donegal Ancestry Centre on the quayside is well worth a visit as it has an exhibition depicting the history of the town and its environs from pre-Plantation times. An adjacent building is the County Geneology Centre with over one million records on the database.
