On the banks of the river is Swan Park, called after Harry Percival Swan, a prominent local historian. Swan Park can be approached from two directions, either from Cockhill Road (approx. 1.5km from the town centre) or from the castle bridge. The park itself straddles the Crana river and is set in sheltered surroundings. The park is very popular with visitors, families, fishermen and is used by townspeople for walking and relaxation.
